Calci Sand - The Dangers
Calci-sand, calcium sand, although often sold in pet shops as 'perfectly safe, if they eat it they can digest it' substrate, is one of the most dangerous substrates you could use. It's responsible for countless deaths every year. When it is ingested it can cause impaction, see below

We sometimes get people ringing up and asking if they can buy calci sand from our website because that's what they've been told that they need. We don't sell it, and generally they stop wanting to buy it after seeing the photographs of what can happen. If you want to use sand, use a very fine reptile sand or fine playsand. A lot of people use kitchen roll or newspaper, tiles or you can use Zoo Med Repti Carpet.
